Summer?!

Beckley Family Reunion!

Hmm....can anyone guess what we did here??

Wow, summer is flying by. The temps here in Tennessee have just reached the 100 degree mark. It is the time of year when I want to hide inside with the a/c on 60 and a fan on me. It is the time of year that I am most ready for winter!

We recently got back from our Beckley family reunion. My how the years have flown. I am just thinking now that it was 20 years ago I went to the very first one. I will try to find a picture of that one and then one of this one for you.

We rented a house in Florida with my parents during the reunion. It was cheaper than getting a hotel and we had our own pool! It was a nice relaxing vacation.

While we were in Florida my brother-in-law and his new wife had a baby. She is the cutest thing. They named her Kelly Lynn! We were very lucky to get to see her before we came home.

Other than that we have been working in our yard, and trying to enjoy Bob's new schedule of 4/10 hour days. That does get tiring as our evenings during those 10 hour days are very short.

We volunteered to help out with VBS earlier this year. Bob got to play Goliath and I was helping out with the music. We had a good time, but it was exhausting as usual.

I hope you all have a good summer and I will post some pictures as soon as I have time!

One more word of advice. If you are in Florida particularly on the water.....wear sun screen!!!!!

My typical Florida burn!

Grandma........

I will not show Grandma after ALS set into her body. Even though she was still beautiful. This picture is from about two years ago. This is how I want to remember her. Grandma passed away Saturday, September 1st. She did not have a wrinkle on her face. The people at the nursing home all told us how wonderful it was to work with Grandma. Her love for the Lord never wavered. And even though she couldn't speak. She still managed to let me know she loved me, just a few days before she went home. I thank God that I could be there in her last days, and minutes, I wouldn't trade that time for anything in the world.

Visitors

My parents and little sister came from a visit last weekend! We had a wonderful time! We toured some of Memphis, trying out different restaurants and of course listening to some Blues music.
Mom and I got to spend the better part of one day shopping! It was so much fun to be able to do that again with my mom! So many times, when I'm shopping alone, I wish my mom were with me. So it was a blessing to have her there!!!

The Memphis area is known for the catfish(just to explain the sign).

Bob and Dad hanging out.

Hanging out playing PlayStation.

One of the most popular places in Memphis to listen to the blues!

Okay, so my dad thought that the sign was neat. Then he thought it would be neat to do this. I really don't know what to say about it....?

Wilder Home Mansfield, MO

The cabinets in the kitchen were so short they came up almost to
my knee's. Apparently Laura was quite a bit shorter than me!

They have beautiful grounds at the Wilder home! Quite inspiring! Laura wrote all the little house books at this home. The back stairs in the house are so small that only children and very, very skinning adults could fit up between the walls!

California here we come!

We really enjoyed our trip to California! There was so much to see and do, we barely brushed the surface! We will definitely be returning!

A mountain in the Sierra's.

Bob's first attempt at skiing.

Samuel laughs at the cows!

My sister Erika and nephew Sam looking at the cows
on the farm(Grandma and Grandpa's farm).

Sam laughed his head off at the mooing cows!
Erika and I were in stitches listening to him giggle!

Sam is our oldest sisters son. She is pregnant
with their second son and is due in April.
